If you don't know some of the names I am about to name you should definitely get up on them. I know some people just don't appreciate whatever is not on the radio anymore and I get that. You have been too used to letting your mind being melted from Lil Wayne, and 50 Cent. Honestly I will not assume, but most of my generation I think thinks that Hot 97, and Power 105 are actually true to their slogans that make you believe that that's where "Hip Hop Lives". Word!!!!!If that's the case where's the dude at? I wanna drink an Old English 40 Ounce with that dude roll one up, and watch some GOOD TIMES!!!DYNOMITEEEE! NO! It's not gonna happens like that family, I'm sorry but that thing with those speakers, and those white earphones that are on full blast cranking Souljaboy and messing up your equilibrium are not conducive to your knowledge.
Hey I'm not a Hip Hop purist. I like to crank something with a good beat sometimes, but sue me I like diversity, and if I am going to let some white execs at Clear Channel media conglomerate question my intelligence(with the exception of Peter Rosenberg show on Sunday nights 12-2)I will be bankrupt. The radio is making young people think today that only "good music" get's played on the radio today, and oh my are they being misled. I would rather freestyle battle accapela with Vanilla Ice than just listen to the radio, and think that.
There are some new artists that are making Hip Hop there home however, and trying to warm the place up out of the cold. Colin Munroe is a niche artist from Toronto, Canada and he's dope. He's different, and will make it big if he keeps it up with songs like "Piano Lessons" featuring Joell Ortiz(Produced by Black Milk), and "Will I Stay" featuring WALE. He's like a white Canadian version of Ryan Leslie to me because he fits no mold, and in this era of Hip Hop different (in my opinion) equals success if not quality, and I'll take that over quantity ANY DAY.

Another ill artist is a brother named NORTH from the Bronx who reps Division X, and he comes as raw as they come. Life experience no bs, and certainly someone people need to check out. I interviewed him, and another artist named Hipnotiq (also repping the BX), and he described himself as an indie artist rather than an "Underground artist" NORTH said "I'm indie when your underground your dead"
Well said my brother well said...I will keep studying and you should too. Let me learn you. Don't be afraid of knowledge we learn something every single day. About ourselves this beautiful world we live in and each other. Malcolm X once said "The future belongs to those who prepare for it today"...THE HIP HOP STUDY has you covered just consider us a cheat sheet...
