What people think of the current state of Hip Hop...You guessed it a MINSTREL SHOW!
I would consider Ludacris a comedian in Hip Hop, and also Eminem, but despite everything else he would not be called a baffoon, even though he is the "blackest white boy" to validate "white thuggish" behavior. Before Hip Hop in these times even good ole' Em' might have been rocking a stage putting on a minstrel show...

What IF????

Jadakiss new album to be simply out is FIRE!!!!!!!! It sold close to 135,000 in album sales in it's 1st week, and it made me think about alot of things like WHAT IF?...One if his songs featuring Nas is called what if, and it asks a lot of questions starting with the same line, like his song WHY from his second album. Jada is no doubt in my mind one of the best NY lyricists, and I thank God for his gritty street knowledge and respect him for his raw flow, but sometimes the current state of Hip Hop (especially when it comes to N.Y.) makes me ponder the same with WHY'S? and WHAT IF's...

Like WHY did Jadakiss have to feature O.J. "DA" JUICEMAN to make his song who's real hot?

WHAT IF Biggie and Tupac where still alive(like everyone asks)would there be the same "BEEF" between the East and West Coasts?

WHY do rappers have to rely on publicizing "BEEF" with clever marketing schemes just to sell records, and not just rely on talent?(there is little)Guess I answered that one

WHAT IF Lil Wayne pursued a career in acting, and playwriting (he was in a specialized school for performance arts as a kid)would his name ring bells as Dwayne Carter the actor/playright?

WHY do rappers flaunt with money from royalty checks, and wanna-be's flaunt with dope money and welfare checks when at the end of the day they aren't "rich" at all?

WHAT IF Nas never said Hip Hop was dead?

WHY do record labels refer to those greenbacks signed to their labels as "artists" when they continue to give their "artists" crusty brushed and "brown paper bags" to make art?

AND FINALLY,

WHAT IF you were given the marketing dollars to put your name out there as an artists as militant as you might be would you sacrifice it to get rich or die trying?

Just some food for thought but honestly we have to keep it real. Hip Hop isn't the same stop with the Why's and What if's and just be.
